Guide your Fallout 4 journey! Learn how to clear the Rotten Landfill, find hidden loot, and discover nearby unmarked locations like Radscorpion Shack and a Crashed Vertibird.

Alright, let's talk about the Rotten Landfill in Fallout 4. Honestly, it's not the most exciting spot, mostly just a big pile of trash between Tenpines Bluff and Lexington. But hey, even trash heaps can have secrets!

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Rotten Landfill: You'll find this area as a big mound of rubbish. Keep an eye out for Molerats – both the regular kind and some Rabid ones. You'll need to clear them out both above and below ground. Once they're dealt with, you can loot a Steamer Trunk that's hidden amongst the trash. The loot inside is random, and while most Molerats won't be too tough, you might stumble upon a legendary one.
Tips
  • The Rotten Landfill itself is pretty straightforward, but don't skip looting the Steamer Trunk. You never know what goodies you might find!
  • Keep an ear out for Molerat squeaks – they're usually a good indicator of their location.

Nearby Locations:

While the landfill isn't a major quest hub, there are a couple of unmarked spots nearby that are definitely worth your time:

  1. Radscorpion Shack: Head uphill to the west of the Rotten Landfill. You'll find a small shack tucked under an overpass. Inside, you'll encounter a burrowed Radscorpion. Take it down, and then check out the cage nearby. It's locked with an 'Expert' lock, but inside you'll find a radioactive barrel and, more importantly, four RadAway! You'll take some radiation from the barrel, but it's a small price to pay for the RadAway.
  2. Crashed Vertibird: Southeast of the Rotten Landfill, across the road, there's a lake. Look along the northern edge of the water, and you'll spot the remains of a downed vertibird. Swim out to it, and on the western side, at the bottom of the lake, you'll find a suit of Power Armor. This Power Armor scales with your level, so it's always worth checking out, even if the specific pieces might vary. Be prepared to take a few Rads while you're down there.
