Don't worry, it's pretty straightforward and you'll naturally pick them up as you play. There are five main ones: Ascend, Ultrahand, Recall, Camera, and Auto-Build. Each one totally changes how you can interact with the world, solve puzzles, and get around. You'll find yourself needing them pretty early on to reach new areas or tackle challenges, so let's get you up to speed on how to unlock them all!

Ultrahand is the first ability you'll get, and it's a game-changer. It lets you grab and attach pretty much any object to another. Think building crazy contraptions like attaching a fan to a cart to ride on rails, or just using it to pull stubborn chests out of the ground or water. It's super versatile!

Next up is Fuse. This one lets you combine items with your weapons, shields, or arrows. Want to make your arrows deal fire damage against those tough Moblins? Just fuse a Fire Fruit to it! It adds a whole new layer of strategy to combat and exploration.

Ascend is the third ability you'll unlock, and it's a lifesaver for verticality. Once you get it, you can basically swim up through any solid surface above you. This is perfect for quickly getting to higher ground, like the tops of those Skyview Towers, or just skipping the climb up a tricky mountain.

Recall is your fourth ability, and it's all about time manipulation. See a platform falling from the sky? Hop on it and use Recall to send it back up to its origin point, taking you along for the ride. It's also super handy for puzzles in shrines that involve moving objects.

The Camera is your fifth ability. You'll get this during a main quest on the Hyrule Surface. It lets you scan pretty much anything – materials, creatures, enemies, equipment. It's incredibly useful for spotting enemy weaknesses or finding out what items they drop.

Finally, there's Auto-Build. This one is a lifesaver when you're trying to construct vehicles, rafts, or other complex contraptions. If you have the necessary materials or a blueprint, Auto-Build can construct the entire thing for you instantly. No more fiddling with parts for ages!

Unlocking Your Abilities

You'll get the first four abilities – Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, and Recall – during the game's prologue on the Great Sky Island. You'll naturally unlock them by completing the shrines there:

• Ukouh Shrine: Grants you Ultrahand.
• In-isa Shrine: Grants you Fuse.
• Gutanbac Shrine: Grants you Ascend.
• Temple of Time: Rewards you with Recall after completing its objective.

Once you descend to the Hyrule Surface, you'll need to progress through the main quest a bit. After you learn how to use the towers, find and speak to Robbie. This will kick off a main quest called “Camera Work In The Depths.” You'll need to head into the Hyrule Field Chasms (The Depths), find Robbie again, and he'll grant you the Camera ability.

For Auto-Build, you'll also start on the Hyrule Surface. Make your way to the Great Plateau North Chasm, which is south of Lookout Landing, and drop into the Depths. Look for a Researcher south of the Nogukoyk Lightroot. Chatting with them will grant you access to the Auto-Build ability and teach you how to use it.
