Need help with the Meat For Meat side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Follow our guide to find Rock Roast and complete this quest for a Large Zonai Charge.

Alright, so you're looking to tackle the 'Meat For Meat' side quest in Tears of the Kingdom? Awesome! First things first, you'll need to have finished the Fire Temple and freed the Gorons from that Marbled Rock Roast mess. Once that's sorted, head over to the Bedrock Bistro, which is right by Goronbi Lake. Make sure you activate the Timawak Shrine nearby too – it's a lifesaver for fast travel later!

When you get to the counter, you'll see a bit of a kerfuffle between Cooke and a Hylian named Mezer. Mezer's got a craving for some Rock Roast, and he needs you to fetch him some so he can trade it with Cooke. Let's go find that Rock Roast!

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, you'll want to head towards Goron City by following the minecart tracks that start near the bistro.
  2. 2
Keep an eye out for a cave opening; it's on the way back towards Goron City. You'll know it's the right one because there's an NPC chilling in the hot springs right in front of it. Super easy to spot!
  3. 3
Important: Before you dive into the cave, make sure you've got some heat-resistant armor on or have some heat-resistant food handy. It gets pretty toasty in there.
  4. 4
Once you're inside, you'll see a lava river. To cross it, use the ledge to glide over.
  5. 5
Look to your right, you'll see some ruins. Grab the Hydrant you find there and use your Ultrahand ability to place it in the lava, creating a bridge. This is your safe passage across!
  6. 6
Now, grab a piece of Rock Roast. You can pick it up directly or use Ultrahand to lift it.
  7. 7
Carefully make your way back across the Hydrant bridge and exit the cave.
  8. 8
You'll find a mine cart and a fan nearby. Fuse the Rock Roast to the mine cart.
  9. 9
Hop in the cart and use the fan to zoom back to the Bedrock Bistro. It's the fastest way!
  10. 10
Once you're back, just carry the Rock Roast to the counter. A cutscene will play, Mezer will get his trade, and you'll be rewarded with a Large Zonai Charge. Nicely done!
Tips
  • After this quest, two more quests will open up: 'Rock Roast or Dust' with Cooke and 'Cash in on Ripened Flint' with a Goron named Gomo. So, stick around in the area!
  • Don't forget that heat resistance is key for this cave. If you don't have the armor, stock up on some spicy meals or elixirs.
  • Large Zonai Charge
