Follow our guide to complete the Hateno Village Research Lab side adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Find Robbie, the Mayahisik Shrine, and more.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
After completing the Main Quest 'A Mystery in the Depths' and speaking with Robbie in Lookout Landing, you will begin the Hateno Village Research Lab Side Adventure.
  2. 2
Fast travel to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and glide south to find the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.
  3. 3
Enter the lab and speak with Robbie. He will attach a Sensor to your Purah Pad, which will alert you when you are near Shrines.
  4. 4
Follow the direction of the Sensor. When prompted by more dialogue with Robbie, exit the lab.
  5. 5
Head down the hill towards the bottom. To the right of a small waterfall, you will find the entrance to the Retsam Forest Cave. Alternatively, look for a small alcove further down the hill with breakable rocks, which is also an entrance to the same cave.
  6. 6
Proceed through the Retsam Forest Cave, defeating any Like Likes, harvesting Brightcaps, and mining Ore Nodes you encounter.
  7. 7
You will eventually reach the Mayahisik Shrine. Interact with it to activate it as a fast travel point. There is no puzzle inside; you will find a chest and a Light of Blessing.
  8. 8
Return to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab and speak with Robbie to inform him of your success. This will conclude the Side Adventure.
Tips
  • The Sensor attached by Robbie will help guide you directly to the Mayahisik Shrine.
  • The Retsam Forest Cave contains resources like Brightcaps and Ore Nodes, which can be useful.
  • The Mayahisik Shrine itself does not contain a puzzle and serves primarily as a fast travel point and a source for a Light of Blessing.
