Follow our walkthrough to complete The Fort at Ja'Abu Ridge side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Learn how to start, defeat enemies, and claim your rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin the Quest: Progress the Main Quest until you have completed the Water Temple and the Regional Phenomena storyline. Return to Zora's Domain and speak with Gaddison on the bridge east of the throne room. She will inform you of monsters on Ja'Abu Ridge, and the quest will be added to your map.
- 2Prepare for Battle: Ensure you have sufficient healing food, weapons, bows, and shields. The difficulty of the enemies (Bokoblins and a Boss Bokoblin) will scale based on your progression in the adventure, ranging from Red/Blue to Black/Silver.
- 3Reach the Fort: Teleport to the Ihen-a Shrine. Head southeast and leap off the island, using your Paraglider to reach Ja'Abu Ridge and the fort.
- 4Clear the Outskirts: As you approach, deal with the Bokoblin on the watchtower using a bow before it can alert others.
- 5Assault the Fort: Use Ascend to reach the platforms above the fort. You can use barrels found here against the enemies below. Fire a bomb arrow into the group to initiate the main battle.
- 6Engage the Boss Bokoblin: If the situation becomes difficult, retreat outside the fort and lure enemies out. For the Boss Bokoblin at the top, use Ascend to reach a platform with a clear line of sight and attack it with explosive arrows from a distance.
- 7Loot and Rescue: Once the area is clear, open the chest to obtain a Lynel Reaper. If Hino is present, use Ultrahand to lift his cage and release him. He will provide rewards based on previous rescues.
- 8Return to Gaddison: Go back to Gaddison in Zora's Domain to report your success. She will reward you with a Silver Rupee (100 rupees).
Tips
- Consider bringing bomb arrows or other explosive weapons for crowd control and dealing with the Boss Bokoblin effectively.
- If you are struggling with the enemies, don't hesitate to retreat outside the fort and engage them on your own terms.
- The difficulty of the enemies scales with your game progression, so be prepared for tougher encounters if you tackle this quest later in the game.
- Silver Rupee (100 rupees)
- Lynel Reaper (from chest)
- Potential additional rewards from Hino if rescued.
