Draconic Aspect Selection

At 1st level, a Dragonblood Shifter can imbue themselves with draconic power for a number of minutes per day equal to 3 + their Shifter level. Activating this ability is a swift action, and ending it is a free action.

Draconic aspects grant resistances and deal damage based on the chosen dragon's element. While shifted, the shifter gains the scent ability and energy resistance 5 against the dragon's element. Any damage resisted is provided as healing.

The choice of dragon type is restricted by alignment: Good characters can only choose metallic dragon types, evil characters are restricted to chromatic dragon types, and neutral characters may select any type. Selecting a new draconic aspect ends any previously active one.

Wyrmshifter Abilities

Wyrmshifter (Level 9)

At 9th level, the shifter gains a +2 racial bonus to saves against sleep and paralysis effects. They can assume dragon form as per the Dragonkind I spell. This is a standard action with a duration of one minute per use. The number of uses per day equals the Shifter's class level + Wisdom modifier. This duration can become permanent with the Master Shapeshifter Mythic ability.

Improved Wyrmshifter (Level 14)

At 14th level, the shifter gains a +4 racial bonus to saves against sleep and paralysis effects. They can assume dragon form as per the Dragonkind II spell. This ability lasts for one hour per use. The number of uses per day equals the Shifter's class level + Wisdom modifier. This duration can become permanent with the Master Shapeshifter Mythic ability.

Greater Wyrmshifter (Level 20)

At 20th level, the shifter becomes immune to sleep and paralysis effects and can transform into a dragon at will. In this form, they gain:

  • +10 polymorph bonus to Strength
  • +8 polymorph bonus to Constitution
  • +8 natural armor bonus to AC
  • +10' movement speed
  • Immunity to difficult terrain
  • Damage Reduction (DR) 10/magic
  • Immunity to the form's element
  • A bite attack (2d8), two claw attacks (1d8), a tail slap attack (2d6), and two secondary wing attacks (2d6).
  • A breath weapon (16d8 damage) usable once every 1d4 rounds. This breath attack bypasses energy resistances and immunities.

Breath Weapon Variations

The specific effects of the breath weapon depend on the chosen dragon type:

  • Black Dragon: 16d8 acid damage in a 100' line. Failed saves incur a -5 penalty to attack rolls for 2-5 rounds.
  • Blue Dragon: 16d8 electricity damage in a 100' line. Failed saves incur a -3 penalty to saving throws for 2-5 rounds.
  • Green Dragon: 16d8 acid damage in a 50' cone. Failed saves take an additional 16d8 acid damage for 2-5 rounds (reduced by resistances/immunities).
  • Red Dragon: 16d8 fire damage in a 50' cone. Failed saves incur a -5 penalty to AC for 2-5 rounds.
  • White Dragon: 16d8 cold damage in a 50' cone. Failed saves result in paralysis and an additional 20 cold damage per round. Affected creatures can attempt a Fortitude save each round to break free.
  • Brass Dragon: 16d8 fire damage in a 100' line. Allies take no damage but gain +10' speed and an additional attack with melee weapons for 2-5 rounds (stacks with Haste and the speed property).
  • Bronze Dragon: 16d8 electricity damage in a 100' line. Allies take no damage but gain a +5 dodge bonus to AC for 2-5 rounds.
  • Copper Dragon: 16d8 acid damage in a 100' line. Allies take no damage but gain a +5 natural armor bonus to AC for 2-5 rounds.
