Exotic Weapon Proficiency

Become proficient in one of the following weapons: Bastard Sword, Dueling Sword, Dwarven Waraxe, Dwarven Urgrosh, Elven Curve Blade, Estoc, Falcata, Fauchard, Gnome Hooked Hammer, Kama, Nunchaku, Sai, Tongi, Sling Staff, Orc Double Axe, Two-bladed Sword. Certain non-human races may gain exotic proficiencies for free. For example, an elf character with Martial Weapon Proficiency will also be proficient with with the Elven Curve Blade. Monk proficiencies include Kama, Nunchaku and Sai. The Aldori Defender receives proficiency in the Dueling Sword as does a character with the Aldori Swordsman background.

Weapon Finesse

When wielding a light weapon, use your Dexterity modifier for attack rolls rather than your Strength modifier. Note that this only applies to attack rolls but not damage rolls. The game is not terribly clear as to which weapons this feat applies to. They are: Simple: Dagger, Light Mace, Punching Dagger, Sickle; Martial: Handaxe, Kukri, Light Hammer, Light Pick, Rapier, Short Sword, Starknife; Exotic: Dueling Sword, Elven Curve Blade, Estoc, Kama, Sai, Swatooth Saber.

Weapon Focus

Choose a single weapon and gain +1 to attack rolls with that weapon. This can also be selected for unarmed strike (for Monks), natural weapons (for Wildshaped Druids) and touch attacks and rays (for spellcasters) and may be selected multiple times, although it must be applied to a different weapon each time.

Greater Weapon Focus

Choose a single weapon for which you have already selected Weapon Focus and gain an additional +1 to attack rolls with that weapon.

Weapon Specialization

Choose a single weapon for which you have already selected Weapon Focus and gain +2 to damage rolls with that weapon.

Greater Weapon Specialization

Choose a single weapon for which you have already selected Weapon Specialization and gain an additional +2 to damage rolls with that weapon.

Advanced Weapon Training

You can select one of the following Weapon Training options: Armed Bravery, Combat Maneuver Defense, Effortless Dual Wielding, Fighter's Finesse, Fighter's Reflexes, Fighter's Tactics, Trained Initiative.

Dazzling Display

As a full-round action, attempt to demoralise all foes within 30'. This requires a Persuasion check.

Shatter Defenses

Any shaken, frightened or panicked opponent struck by you counts as flat-footed until the end of your next turn. This feat is only useful if you are using iterative attacks since your first attack won't be made against flat-footed AC. Builds based around Vital Strike, for example, will want to steer clear.

Penetrating Strike

Attacks made with weapons for which you have selected Weapon Focus ignore up to 5 points of damage reduction.

Greater Penetrating Strike

Attacks made with weapons for which you have selected Weapon Focus ignore up to 10 points of damage reduction.

Aldori Dueling Mastery

Add +2 to initiative checks when wielding a dueling sword. Gain +2 shield bonus to AC if not using a shield or an off-hand weapon. The dueling sword is treated as a piercing weapon for the effects of a weapon used by a Duelist.

Fencing Grace

When wielding a finessable, one-handed piercing weapon in which you have taken Weapon Focus (i.e. Dagger, Estoc, Punching Dagger, Rapier, Sai, Starknife), not using a shield or off-hand weapon and not using Flurry of Blows, you can add your Dexterity bonus to weapon damage.

Slashing Grace

When wielding a one-handed slashing weapon in which you have taken Weapon Focus, not using a shield or off-hand weapon and not using Flurry of Blows, you can add your Dexterity bonus to weapon damage. The chosen weapon is treated as a piercing weapon for the effects of a weapon used by a Duelist. Although the Elven Curve Blade benefits from Weapon Finesse, it is a two-handed weapon so does not benefit from Slashing Grace. If you select non-finessable weapons, such as Longswords and Scimitars, you will get a Dexterity to-hit bonus even though they don't benefit from Weapon Finesse.

Piranha Strike

When wielding a finessable weapon, you can choose to take a -1 penalty to attack rolls in return for +2 damage.

Tips
  • Many classes receive weapon proficiencies automatically, check your class features to avoid wasting feat slots.
  • Weapon Finesse is crucial for Dexterity-based builds, allowing you to use Dexterity for attack rolls with light weapons.
  • Weapon Focus can be applied to unarmed strikes, natural weapons, and touch attacks/rays, making it versatile for various builds.
  • Greater Weapon Specialization requires Fighter level 12 and Weapon Specialization.
  • Shatter Defenses is most effective with builds that have multiple attacks per round.
