First Meeting - Stormhill, west of Summonwater Village

You can first find D, Hunter of the Dead in Stormhill, located west of the Summonwater Village Site of Grace. Follow the path east from the Saintsbridge Site of Grace towards Summonwater Village; D will be on your right, roughly halfway along this path. He will be standing over a corpse. Speak with him, and he will warn you to turn back, stating the village has been touched by death.

Ignore his warning and travel east to Summonwater Village. Here, you will encounter the boss Tibia Mariner, who must be defeated to advance D’s quest. After defeating the Tibia Mariner, D will relocate to Summonwater Village, standing near a tree stump in the southwest. He will notice you have a Deathroot (dropped by the boss) and ask if you wish to hunt more of “Those Who Live in Death.” If you accept, he will introduce you to Gurrang the beast clergyman and place a red marker on your map indicating a portal to him.

    After speaking with D, follow the red marker on your map, which is east of Summonwater Village. The quickest route is to teleport to the Third Church of Marika Site of Grace, then head north towards the marker.

Second Meeting - Roundtable Hold

After visiting Gurrang at the Bestial Sanctum and giving him at least one Deathroot, you will find him at the Table of Lost Grace in Roundtable Hold. He will acknowledge you as “brothers of a sort” and offer to sell the following Incantations: Litany of Proper Death (1 stock, 2500 Runes) and Order’s Blade (1 stock, 3000 Runes). D’s questline cannot progress further until you have started and progressed the questlines of Fia and Rogier.

Final Meeting - Roundtable Hold

Once Rogier’s questline is complete, you will receive a note from him concerning D’s twin brother. You must then advance Fia’s quest by obtaining at least two Great Runes and using the Grand Lift of Dectus to reach the Altus Plateau. After these conditions are met, speak to Fia and ask her to hold you. She will then give you the Weathered Dagger and ask you to find its owner.

Give the Weathered Dagger to D. He will recognize it and ask you to leave it with him. Rest at a Site of Grace to refresh Roundtable Hold. Upon returning, the door at the back, near Smithing Master Hewg, will be open. Inside, you will find D dead on the ground with Fia standing over him. After Fia vanishes, you can collect D's Bell Bearing and the Twinned Set from his body. Keep the Twinned Set, as it is required to advance the quest of D’s Twin Brother.
