Alright, Tarnished! So you’ve stumbled upon the Tree Sentinel in Limgrave, huh? Don’t let that shiny armor fool you; he’s a tough one, especially early on. He’s chilling right between The First Step site of grace and the Church of Elleh, basically guarding the path. He’s a big knight on a big horse, both looking like they’re dipped in gold. Honestly, he’s probably the first real wall you’ll hit, and he hits HARD. He’s got a ton of health and some attacks that can absolutely one-shot you if you’re not careful.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The Tree Sentinel fights on horseback, using his halberd for charges, sweeps, and overhead slams. He also has a horse stomp for close-range encounters.
2. Phase 2: After taking some damage, he starts using his shield more aggressively. Expect ground slams that create shockwaves and shield pushes/charges to knock you down.

Strategy:

• Seriously, get your horse, Torrent, before you even think about fighting this guy. Fighting him on foot is a nightmare. On horseback, you’re way more agile and can actually keep up with his speed.
• Use the open field to your advantage. When he charges, you can charge him back or dodge out of the way. The key is to get hits in when you can, especially on the side of his horse that doesn't have the shield.
• His halberd has a long reach, so you’ll need to be good at dodging. Watch out for his big overhead slam – it’s devastating if you’re low level. High dexterity helps, but timing your dodges is crucial.
• If you get too close, he might try to stomp you with his horse. This will knock you down, leaving you vulnerable to follow-up attacks, so keep your distance when you see him preparing to rear up.
• In his second phase, he uses his shield a lot more. He’ll slam it down, creating a shockwave that can knock you over. Steer clear of the impact zone! He also uses it to push you or charge sideways.
• If you get knocked off your horse or stunned, you’re in big trouble. Try to get back on Torrent or create distance immediately to heal.
