Alright, Tarnished! So you're looking to get your hands on the Mimic Tear Ashes, huh? Smart move. This is one of the best Spirit Ashes in the game, letting you summon a copy of yourself to fight alongside you. It's a total game-changer, especially for bosses. Here's how you snag 'em.

First things first, you can't just waltz into the area where these ashes are found. You'll need to have defeated Starscourge Radahn. Once he's down, the path to Nokron, Eternal City will open up. That's where we're headed.

Once you're in Nokron, make your way to the Ancestral Woods site of grace. It's pretty much right above some ruins and south of the Hallowhorn Grounds. From there, you're looking for a giant statue. Keep your eyes peeled for rooftops below it – that's your next jumping-off point. You'll need to carefully jump down onto these roofs.

Head to the right along the edge of the first roof, then jump down to another roof below that. You'll see a staircase to your right. Don't take it! Instead, jump down onto the dome-shaped roof directly below and keep moving along the flat rooftops. Watch out for those sneaky Silver Tears lurking around; take them out as you go.

When you reach the end of the rooftops, look for a narrow ledge between two buildings on your left. Follow that ledge, and you'll find a ramp made of rubble. This ramp will lead you into a building. Once you're inside, head east, go up the steps, and follow the corridor. You're looking for a fog gate that's locked by an imp statue.

This is it! The Mimic Tear Ashes are chilling in a chest just beyond that imp statue door. To get through, you'll need a Stonesword Key. You can buy these from merchants scattered throughout the Lands Between, or sometimes you'll find them by looting corpses.

What are Mimic Tear Ashes?

So, what makes these ashes so special? When you use the Mimic Tear Ashes with your Summoning Bell, you'll summon a perfect copy of your character to fight with you. It costs 660 HP to summon, so keep that in mind. Your mimic will wield whatever weapon you have equipped, wear your armor, and even use your spells. It's got its own reserve of Flasks too and uses them like a champ – this thing is surprisingly smart!

The best part? It acts completely on its own. It'll dish out damage wherever it can and, more importantly, serve as a fantastic distraction. While the bosses are busy trying to deal with your doppelganger, you can sneak in some hits from behind or pick them off from a distance. Seriously, it's a lifesaver.
