Respec and Larval Tear Locations

Discover all Elden Ring Larval Tear locations to respec your character with Rennala. Find tears in Limgrave, Liurnia, Caelid, Siofra River, Nokron, and Nokstella.

To respec your character in Elden Ring, you must first defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, located in the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Liurnia of the Lakes. After her defeat, you can speak to her about 'rebirth,' which requires one Larval Tear. Larval Tears are rare items, and this guide details all their locations.

Respec allows you to reallocate your level-up points, though your base class remains unchanged.

Larval Tear Locations:

1. Limgrave - East of Agheel Lake South site of grace: Dropped by a Lesser Runebear disguised as an Undead Soldier.
2. Liurnia of the Lakes - Village of the Albinaurics: Found in the graveyard, north of the Folly of the Lake site of grace.
3. Liurnia of the Lakes - Between Rose Church and Boilprawn Shack: Dropped by a Grafted Scion disguised as a Giant Lobster.
4. Liurnia of the Lakes - Caria Manor: Purchase from Pidia, Carian Servant for 3,000 Runes.
5. Caelid - Graveyard in southern Caelid: An undead soldier transforms into a Troll and drops a Larval Tear upon defeat.
6. Siofra River - Atop wooden scaffolding west of Worshipper’s Woods site of grace: Purchase from a Nomadic Merchant for 3,000 Runes.
7. Minor Erdtree - East of Woodfolk Ruins: Dropped by a Lion Guard disguised as an Undead Soldier.
8. Nokron, Eternal City - Through the fog gate near the Nokron, Eternal City site of grace: Dropped by the Mimic Tear boss.
9. Nokron, Eternal City - North from the Night’s Sacred Ground site of grace: Inside a building, destroy an Iron Ball (disguised Silver Tear) to obtain a Larval Tear.
10. Nokron Eternal City - West of Siofra River Well Depths site of grace: Loot a dead corpse in a stone building and another beneath a gazebo further west for two Larval Tears.
11. Nokstella, Eternal City - Near the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella site of grace: Dropped by an Iron Ball (disguised Silver Tear) on a nearby bridge.

You can collect a maximum of 10 Larval Tears per playthrough in the base game, though more locations exist. It is advisable to keep one Larval Tear for Boc.
