Struggling with Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon in Elden Ring's Raya Lucaria Academy? This guide breaks down her phases, attacks, and the best strategies to defeat her.

Alright, Tarnished! Ready to face Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon in the Raya Lucaria Grand Library? She's a tough one, but don't sweat it. I'll walk you through exactly how to get to her and then how to take her down, phase by phase. Let's get this done!

Where to Find Rennala:

First things first, you need to get into the Raya Lucaria Academy. It's in the middle of that big lake northwest of the center. The main gate is magically sealed, so you'll need an Academy Glintstone Key. Don't worry, there's one nearby! Head west of the academy to some rocks guarded by Glintstone Dragon Smarag. You don't have to fight Smarag; just find the corpse near the rocks to snag the key. With that, you can open the academy gates.

Once inside, you've got a bit of a trek. The closest checkpoint to the lift that takes you up to Rennala is the Debate Parlor Site of Grace. To get there, you'll need to push through the dungeon and defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon.

From the Debate Parlor, head north and hop onto a curved walkway to the east. Watch out for an Abductor Virgin, but the real danger is the Glintstone Sorcerers in the building at the top of the walkway. They'll summon a giant metal ball that rolls down at you. Dodge it and keep moving until you reach them. Inside that building, head northwest to a courtyard. You'll have to fight Moongrum, Carian Knight there. After that fight, explore south to find a bridge that leads to a shortcut back to the garden. Even better, in the garden south of where you fought Moongrum, go east and jump onto a ledge. Follow it to a ladder that lets you reach those Glintstone Sorcerers. Take them out, and they won't bother you with the metal ball anymore.

With that shortcut sorted, head back to where you fought Moongrum and continue northwest. You'll find a lift; ride it up, and you'll be right outside the Raya Lucaria Grand Library where Rennala awaits.

Phase 1: The Hunt for Scholars

When you first enter the arena, Rennala is protected by a golden barrier and mostly ignores you. Your real targets here are the numerous students swarming the floor. They'll cast sorceries at you, but the key is to find the three Juvenile Scholars who are glowing with a golden aura. Take them out, and Rennala's barrier will drop, giving you a window to attack her. You'll need to repeat this process until her HP bar is depleted to move on to phase two.

Rennala's Phase 1 Attacks:

  • Telekinesis: The students will throw tomes and globes at you, and sometimes knock chandeliers down. Staying near the center, where Rennala floats, is generally safest.
  • Flame Breath: Students will breathe fire in a slow-moving cone. Just keep moving and try not to get in front of them.
  • Burst of Light: Once you defeat the three glowing scholars and her barrier drops, Rennala will eventually detonate a burst of light that deals area damage. Get some hits in before she does this!

Phase 2: Rennala Fights Back

After you deplete her HP the first time, Rennala gets serious. She'll summon you to a twilight dimension, and now it's a direct fight. She primarily uses sorceries, many of which you might recognize, but she spams them relentlessly. While individual spells aren't too hard to dodge, the sheer volume and variety of projectile speeds can make things tricky.

Rennala's Phase 2 Attacks:

  • Glintstone Stars: Her most common attack. She'll summon a cluster of magic stars that home in on you. They're usually easy to dodge individually, but watch out for the sheer number.
