The Mistwood Ruins are located in the center of the Mistwood, on the eastern side of Limgrave. To reach them, follow the road southwest from the Third Church of Marika. Near a monument along this road, you can find the Map: Limgrave, East. You may encounter a Lesser Runebear and some Demi-Humans near a destroyed wagon, but you can bypass them by continuing on the road.

    Follow the road southwest from the Third Church of Marika. The ruins will be just off the road to your right.

    You will likely see a Lesser Runebear near a tree. While it is called 'lesser', it is a dangerous foe for low-level characters. You can choose to fight it or make a dash for the nearby corpse to grab the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook. Even if you die, you will keep the item.

    Inside the ruins, you can find a chest in a ruined tower to the north containing a Smithing Stone (2).

    Head down the stairs to reach a cellar. In the cellar, you will find a chest containing the Axe Talisman.
Tips
  • Lesser Runebears are formidable enemies, especially in the confined spaces of the ruins. It is often best to avoid them if possible, particularly at lower character levels.
  • If you defeat the Lesser Runebear guarding the cellar, you can loot a nearby corpse for the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook.
  • The Axe Talisman is a significant reward found in a chest within the cellar.

How to Find Blaidd:

  1. Return to the Church of Elleh and speak with Merchant Kalé. Choose the dialogue option “About the howling in Mistwood.” He will teach you the Gesture: Finger Snap.
  2. Go back to the Mistwood Ruins and head to the northern outskirts, beyond the tower where the Smithing Stone (2) was found.
  3. Use the Gesture: Finger Snap.
  4. Search an alcove behind (north of) the tower to find the NPC Blaidd. He is not hostile.
  5. Speaking with Blaidd will allow you to summon him for the fight against Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, located southwest of the ruins. Summoning Blaidd can make this fight significantly easier and help you obtain the Bloodhound's Fang weapon.
