Learn where to find Merchant Kalé in Elden Ring, what he sells, and how to trigger his questline starting at the Church of Elleh.
Merchant Kalé is one of the first friendly faces you'll meet in Elden Ring. He's located at the Church of Elleh, which you can reach by heading north from your starting area. Just try to avoid the Tree Sentinel on your way there!
When you first speak with Kalé, he'll tell you about the Nomadic Merchants and their ways. He'll also offer to sell you a Crafting Kit. Seriously, grab this as soon as you can – it's super useful! Make sure to exhaust all of his dialogue options so you don't miss anything.
Kalé has a good selection of early-game items. It's worth checking out his wares to stock up. A Torch is great for those dark caves, and the Telescope lets you scout ahead from a distance.

After you've explored a bit and visited the Mistwood Ruins, you might hear a wolf whistle. If you return to Kalé and ask him about it, he'll give you the Snap Fingers Gesture. He'll tell you to use it next time you hear the whistle. This is how you'll meet Blaidd and kick off his questline. You can then go back to Kalé and tell him about your encounter with Blaidd, and he'll have some thoughts on the matter.
