Learn how to activate Rykard's Great Rune in Elden Ring. This guide details the path through the Sealed Tunnel and the Divine Tower of West Altus to reach the activation point.
You obtain Rykard's Great Rune after defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy in Volcano Manor, Mt Gelmir. To activate it, you must travel to the Divine Tower of West Altus, located west of the Leyndell, Royal Capital outskirts.
- 1From the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace, head east towards the water, then follow it south.
- 2Locate the Sealed Tunnel dungeon entrance to your right.
- 3Inside the Sealed Tunnel, follow the path until you reach the first site of grace. Attack the wall between the summoning statue and the torch to reveal the true path.
- 4In the open area, head southeast past four miners (one aggressive, three passive). Take the right path to find a chest with the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2].
- 5Attack the wall behind the chest to find an elevator. Take it down, follow the tunnel south, and attack the wall at the end to find a corpse with a Golden Rune [5].
- 6Attack the wall behind the corpse to enter an area with roots.
- 7Take the root and drop to the root below and to your left. Follow it to a wooden platform with an enemy that throws a concoction. Defeat the enemies here.
- 8Head through the eastern tunnel. Jump onto the bottom root, walk to its right side, and jump to the higher root. Be aware of exploding stone clusters as you drop to the wooden platform below.
- 9Go down the southeastern stairs to what appears to be a dead end. Attack the wall to reveal another hidden area.
- 10Carefully descend the large hole using roots and stone platforms. At the bottom, head through the south doorway to fight the Onyx Lord.
- 11After defeating the Onyx Lord, ignore the teleporter and go through the southern doorway to exit to the Divine Tower of West Altus.
- 12Activate the site of grace, then head through the double doors and ride the elevator to the top to activate Rykard's Great Rune.
What Rykard's Great Rune does: It heals you for 150-200 health upon defeating enemies, making it useful in dungeons but less so against bosses.
