Learn about distraction devices in Hitman World of Assassination, including the ICA Remote Audio Distraction Device available at Sapienza Mastery Level 10.
Walkthrough
- 1Object Interaction: Vacuum Cleaners, Sinks, Fuseboxes, and Generators can be activated or deactivated by shooting them from a distance. Radios, however, will be destroyed if shot.
- 2Bullet Impacts: Shooting near NPCs can distract them, causing them to investigate or pause. Be cautious, as being spotted firing your weapon can lead to a combat situation.
- 3Alarms and Explosions: Activating Fire Alarms or causing explosions will draw the attention of Guards, causing everyone to stop their current actions. This can provide an opportunity to move unseen.
- 4Bumping: Intentionally bumping into NPCs will make them pause, potentially allowing you to move through an area or perform an action before they resume their routine.
- 5ICA Remote Audio Distraction Device: Available at Sapienza Mastery Level 10 (Legacy) and Miami Mastery Level 18. This device resembles a mine and is treated as such by Guards, requiring an appropriate disguise to carry. When activated, it emits a loud beeping noise that attracts nearby individuals. It can only be turned off by being picked up by you or a Guard. If a Guard picks it up, they will take it to a Weapons Box, and you will need to retrieve it or intercept the Guard to use the device again. Using it against Civilians may cause them to seek a Guard, so act quickly if you intend to subdue or eliminate them. Guards will pick up the device and leave, giving you time to act. To prevent attracting multiple individuals simultaneously, pick up the device after one person is lured to the location.
- 6"Mixtape 47": Available at Bangkok Mastery Level 20 (Legacy). This functions identically to the regular Audio Distraction Device but plays music instead of a beeping noise.
- 7ICA Remote Micro Audio Distraction Device: Available at Santa Fortuna Mastery Level 20. This device emits the same beeping noise as the original but is small enough to be held openly and placed easily, even in crowded rooms. If placed discreetly, lured NPCs may remain searching for the source indefinitely. If placed in the open, it can be picked up by Guards and Civilians as it is not perceived as a weapon. In this case, you must ambush the person holding it to use the device again.
- 8Distraction Specificity: Different objects distract different NPCs. For instance, a Coin might attract a Guard, while a Crowbar might attract a Civilian.
- 9Throwing Objects: Being seen throwing an object will cause NPCs to react negatively, requiring you to try again.
- 10Line of Sight: If you are in one room and your target is in another with a door between you, you must open the door before throwing an object for your target to hear it. Sinks, Vacuums, and Radios will attract people regardless of whether a door is open.
Tips
- Shooting objects or walls near people can be a useful distraction, but be mindful of not being spotted.
- Fire Alarms and explosions can clear an area temporarily, providing cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects).
- Bumping into NPCs is a subtle way to create a brief opening.
- The ICA Remote Audio Distraction Device requires careful management to reuse, especially if a Guard secures it.
- The ICA Remote Micro Audio Distraction Device can be used to keep an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) occupied for an extended period if placed strategically.
- Be aware of which distraction item will attract which type of NPC to effectively lure them away.
- Ensure doors are open when using throwable distractions if your target is in an adjacent room, unless using Sinks, Vacuums, or Radios.
