Learn how to navigate the Pause Menu, Briefing Menu, and understand game saving mechanics in Hitman World of Assassination. Master Contracts and Challenges.

This section covers the various menus and saving options available in Hitman World of Assassination, including the Pause Menu, Briefing Menu, game saving, Contracts Mode, and Challenges.

Pause Menu: Accessed via the Options button (PS4) or Start Button (Xbox One). Allows for Manual Game Save, Load Game, Restart Mission, Replan Mission (change gear/starting point), and exiting the game.

Briefing Menu: Accessed via the Touch Pad (PS4) or Back Button (Xbox One). Contains:

  • Objectives: Current game objectives, targets, and tasks.
  • Map: Shows current position, Agency Pickups, Briefcases, and dropped Disguises. Does not show NPCs in real-time.
  • Mission Stories: Tracks opened Mission Stories for main/bonus missions (not Escalation Contracts or Elusive Targets).
  • Intel: Collected intel during a mission (main story only, not Escalation Contracts or Elusive Targets).
  • Inventory: Items collected so far in the mission.
  • Challenges: Unlocked Challenges.

Game Saving:

  • Autosave: Automatic progress saving with eight slots. Can be disabled in Options > Gameplay.
  • Manual Save: Player-initiated saves, accessible through the Pause Menu, with up to eight slots.
  • Online/Offline Saves: Saves made online cannot be used offline, and vice versa.
  • Restrictions: Saving is disabled during certain circumstances (e.g., Combat, indicated by a red icon) and not permitted in Escalation or special Contracts.

Contracts Mode: Create and share custom Contracts. Select up to five targets, set parameters like Disguise, Weapon, and conditions (time, Pacifications). Complete your own Contracts to challenge others and fulfill in-game Challenges.

Challenges, Mastery, and XP: Earn Mastery Points (XP) by completing Challenges in each location to advance through Mastery Levels. Most locations have twenty Levels, requiring 6,000 XP per Level. Many Challenges award 4,000 XP.
