Learn how to succeed in Hitman World of Assassination Escalation Contracts, including tips on objectives, disguises, and rewards.

Escalation Contracts in Hitman World of Assassination add new objectives on top of existing ones as you progress through stages. These can include eliminating additional targets, completing the mission without any pacifications (non-lethal takedowns), finishing within a specific time limit, dealing with disguises that are less effective against guards and civilians, hacking laptops or opening safes, and encountering more security cameras (surveillance equipment that records video). Each completed stage makes the contract progressively harder. Failing any objective, such as killing a target while wearing the wrong disguise, results in mission failure.

Successfully completing an Escalation Contract earns you 4,000 XP towards your Global XP and Mastery Level, provided you haven't already reached Level 20. You can then reset the contract to its first stage or pursue other Challenges during an Escalation.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Understand that Escalation Contracts introduce new objectives at each stage, increasing difficulty.
  2. 2
Be aware that failing any objective leads to mission failure.
  3. 3
Complete all stages to earn rewards.
  4. 4
Consider resetting the contract to replay stages or complete Challenges.
Tips
  • Practice difficult sections in Main Missions using auto and manual saves (save points where you can manually save your progress) to refine your strategies before attempting them in an Escalation Contract.
  • When an objective requires you to wear a specific disguise for a target's elimination, ensure you are wearing the correct disguise at the moment of death, regardless of the method used (melee weapon, firearm, or explosive).
  • For poison kills, you must be wearing the correct disguise when the target dies. If you poison something while in the correct disguise but switch disguises before the target ingests it and dies, you will fail. Conversely, you can poison something while in a safe disguise and then switch to the correct disguise before the target dies.
  • When hacking laptops, you will stand still for twenty seconds. If you are not properly disguised, you cannot be seen at all during this time. If you are properly disguised (e.g., as a Hacker or Lab person), you are safe after the initial few seconds when you are considered Blending In (acting naturally within the environment). You can abort a hack, but restarting it requires beginning from the start.
  • In Escalation Contracts, you can take disguises from some targets. If you subdue someone, take their disguise, kill them in an accident, and their body is found, you will lose your No Bodies Found bonus because a dead, unclothed body is always considered suspicious. To avoid this, do not take a target's clothes beforehand unless you can quickly hide their body after death.
  • Laser tripwires and mines can make areas dangerous. To navigate them safely, you need the Mine Disarm Device. These devices are found in various map locations and often require a Lockpick (a tool to open locked doors or containers) to access.
  • You must be holding the Mine Disarm Device in your hand for it to work. If you pass through a laser tripwire or mine without holding the device, you will die. Always switch back to holding the device before moving again after using another item or weapon.
