Finding Treasure: Treasure can be discovered on islands, floating in barrels or shipwrecks, within Fort vaults, or taken from defeated foes like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken. Treasure items emit a distinct colored glint, making them visible from a distance.

Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative. While carrying treasure, a pirate cannot fight or use equipment. Dropping the treasure allows for full control. Harpoons can retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be stored in Container Chests, which hold up to three items and hide their glow.

Treasure Mechanics: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates. Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when relevant treasure is picked up and placed on the ship.

Trading Companies: Each Trading Company (Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, Merchant Alliance) values specific treasure types. Representatives at Outposts accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. They also offer Voyages that lead to treasure.

Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company they belong to. Within the main companies, treasures can have Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.

Gold Hoarders Treasure: This category includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts. Treasure Chests are locked and sold to the Gold Hoarders. They come in various forms: Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, worth double), Valuable, and Cursed. Artefacts are smaller items found throughout the seas or in vaults.
