Learn about all types of treasure in Sea of Thieves, including chests, artifacts, and more. Discover how to find, carry, and sell them to Trading Companies for Gold and Reputation.
Walkthrough
- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from a distance. They can be found on islands, floating in barrels or shipwrecks, inside vaults, or taken by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken.
- 2Carrying Treasure: Each treasure item must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative at an Outpost. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or resources while doing so. Smaller items can be stored in Container Chests, which can hold up to three items and hide their glow.
- 3Selling Treasure: Different Trading Companies value specific types of treasure. Representatives at Outposts accept these items for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
- 4Treasure Types: Treasures are categorized by the Trading Company they are sold to. The main companies are the Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, treasures can have Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.
- 5Gold Hoarder Treasure: This includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts. Treasure Chests are locked and sold to the Gold Hoarders. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, and Cursed Chests. Artefacts are smaller items like trinkets and containers, often found in chests or vaults.
