Sharks: Underwater Threats

Sharks are a common underwater threat in Sea of Thieves. While not as dangerous as other threats, they can still inflict damage and disrupt your voyages. Understanding their behavior is key to survival.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Sharks attack players who enter the water.
• They can be killed with any weapon, but are most vulnerable to melee attacks or cannonballs.
• They are attracted to blood in the water (when players are wounded).

Phases:

1. Approach: Sharks will circle their target before attacking.
2. Attack: Sharks will lunge and bite, dealing damage and potentially knocking players off ladders or out of rowboats.
3. Retreat: After attacking, sharks may swim away briefly before re-engaging.

Strategy:

• Avoid swimming unless necessary. If you must swim, be aware of your surroundings.
• When a shark approaches, try to get back to your ship or a safe location.
• If engaged, use your cutlass for quick attacks or shoot them with your pistol. Cannonballs are effective if you can aim them well.
• Be cautious when fighting sharks near your ship, as they can damage your hull.
• If you are bleeding, sharks will be more aggressive. Try to heal yourself before engaging or escaping.
