Finding Treasure: Treasure can be discovered in various locations, including islands, shipwrecks, floating barrels, and within forts. Enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken may also drop treasure. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from a distance.

Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative at an Outpost. While carrying treasure, a pirate cannot use equipment or resource items and has limited mobility. Dropping the treasure allows for full control. Harpoons can also be used to retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller treasures can be stored in Container Chests, which hold up to three items and hide their glow.

Treasure Persistence: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water will sink after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.

Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when picking up relevant treasure. Additional reputation is awarded for placing these items on a ship, with increases given only on the first claim.

Trading Companies: Each Trading Company specializes in certain types of treasure and has representatives at every Outpost. They offer Voyages (quests) that lead to treasure.

Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company that purchases them: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, they can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.

Gold Hoarders Treasure: This category includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts.

Treasure Chests: These are locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, double price), Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests. They emit a White Glint.

Artefacts: Smaller items found individually, in chests, or fortress vaults. They emit a Golden Glint.
