Walkthrough
- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found in various locations: beached on Islands, floating in Shipwrecks, inside Barrels of Plenty, within Fort Vaults, or dropped by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from a distance.
- 2Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or fight while carrying treasure. Dropping the item allows for full control. Harpoons can also be used to retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be stored in Container Chests, which hold up to three items and hide their glow.
- 3Treasure Persistence: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.
- 4Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary and picking up relevant treasure grants Emissary Grade Reputation. This bonus increases if the treasure is placed on the ship, with reputation gains awarded only on the first claim of an item.
- 5Trading Companies: Each Trading Company (Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, Merchant Alliance) values specific treasure types. Representatives at every Outpost accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. They also offer Voyages that lead to treasure.
- 6Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company they belong to. Within the main companies, treasures can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.
- 7Gold Hoarders Treasure: This category includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts.
- 8Treasure Chests: These are locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. They can be found via Treasure Maps, Riddle Maps, Ancient Vaults, or randomly. They emit a white glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests. Ashen chests, found in The Devil's Roar, sell for double.
- 9Artefacts: Smaller items found individually, in Treasure Chests, or Fortress Vaults. They emit a golden glint and include Trinkets, Containers, or Ornaments made of valuable metals and gems.
