Walkthrough
  1. 1
Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found randomly on islands, floating in barrels or shipwrecks, within vaults in forts, or taken from enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken. All treasure items emit a colored glint or glow to help players spot them from afar.
  2. 2
Carrying Treasure: Each treasure item must be carried by hand to its respective Trading Company representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or resources while doing so. Dropping the treasure allows for full control. Harpoons can also retrieve treasure from a distance. Smaller items can be placed in Container Chests (holding up to 3 items) to hide their glow.
  3. 3
Treasure Lifespan: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.
  4. 4
Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when picking up relevant treasure. Additional reputation is gained when these items are placed on the ship. These increases are awarded only upon the first claim of a treasure item.
  5. 5
Trading Companies: Each Trading Company values specific types of treasure. Representatives at every Outpost accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. Companies also offer Voyages, which are quests leading to treasure items.
  6. 6
Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company that purchases them. The three main companies are the Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, treasures can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.
  7. 7
Gold Hoarders Treasure: Items sold to the Gold Hoarders include Treasure Chests and Artefacts.
  8. 8
Treasure Chests: These are locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders, who have the keys. They can be found via Treasure Maps, Riddle Maps, Ancient Vaults, or randomly. They emit a white glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, sell for double), Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests.
  9. 9
Artefacts: These are smaller items found on their own, in treasure chests, or in Fortress Vaults. They emit a golden glint. Types include Trinkets, Containers, and Ornaments made of valuable metals and gems.
Tips
  • Use Container Chests to transport multiple small treasure items efficiently and to hide their glow.
  • Harpoons are useful for retrieving treasure from a distance, especially from shipwrecks or difficult-to-reach spots.
  • Pay attention to the glint and glow of treasure to identify its type and potential value from afar.
  • Prioritize selling treasure relevant to your current Trading Company Emissary status for maximum rewards.
