Maximize Sea of Thieves gold and reputation by completing Voyages and collecting Chests of Fortune. Learn about Trading Company level caps and Emissary rewards.
To maximize your gold and reputation gains in Sea of Thieves, focus on completing Voyages and Tall Tales, and delivering treasure to Trading Company Representatives. Season 11 introduces new opportunities, including Raid Voyages and increased Company level caps, allowing you to earn Distinctions and unlock new rewards.
Treasure items are crucial for earning Gold, Bilge Rat Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. Outpost Representatives offer Voyages that lead to these treasures. Beyond focused Voyages, random treasure can be found across the Sea of Thieves:
- Hidden or beached on Islands.
- Floating among Barrels of Plenty or Shipwrecks.
- Locked behind Vaults in Forts.
- Taken or eaten by menacing foes like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken.
Every Treasure Item has a colored glint or glow, helping players spot them and determine their type from afar. A single pirate can hold one Treasure Item at a time, but cannot fight or use Equipment or Resource Items while carrying it. Treasure must be dropped to regain full control. Most smaller Treasure Items can be placed inside Container Chests.
New rewards in Season 11 also include:
- Chests of Fortune: Found after defeating an emergent Fleet of Fortune (signified by a red cloud). Earning these contributes to the Fortune's Favour Commendation, unlocking Fates of Fortune Cannons, Flag, Capstan, and Wheel.
- Reaper's Chests and Reaper's Bounty: Collecting these contributes to the Reaper's Riches Commendation, unlocking Fates of Fortune Blunderbuss and Eye of Reach.
- Fort of Fortune Rewards: Now include a Chest of Fortune, Reaper's Chests, Reaper's Bounty, Gunpowder Barrels, and ammunition-stocked Resource Crates.
- Shipwreck Rewards: Improved rewards found within sunken shipwrecks.
- Ashen Guardian Rewards: Defeating an Ashen Guardian now provides a map to an Ashen Chest and a Key on the same island.
Trading Companies have raised their level cap to 100. Reaching level 100 unlocks a Distinction, provides a reward, and resets your level with that Company to progress towards the next Distinction.
