Learn how to find, carry, and sell various treasures in Sea of Thieves. Discover different treasure types, their locations, and how to maximize your Gold, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
Walkthrough
- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found through various means:
- Completing Voyages for Trading Companies.
- 2Exploring islands, shipwrecks, and underwater locations.
- 3Defeating enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken.
- 4Opening Vaults in Forts.
- 5Discovering random loot scattered across the Sea of Thieves.
- 6Identifying Treasure: Most treasure items emit a distinct colored glint or glow, allowing players to identify their type from a distance.
- 7Carrying Treasure:
- A single pirate can only carry one treasure item at a time.
- 8While carrying treasure, a pirate cannot fight or use equipment/resource items. The treasure must be dropped to regain full control.
- 9Treasure can be retrieved from afar using a Harpoon.
- 10Smaller treasure items can be placed inside Container Chests (which hold up to 3 items) to hide their glow, glint, or sound.
- 11Treasure Persistence: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, with the exception of Trade Good Crates which float longer.
- 12Selling Treasure:
- Deliver treasure items by hand to the respective Trading Company representatives at any Outpost.
- 13Each company values specific treasure types, offering Gold, Reputation, and Emissary Value in return.
- 14Selling treasure relevant to your current Trading Company Emissary status grants increased Reputation and Emissary Value.
Tips
- Pay attention to the glint/glow to quickly identify treasure types from a distance.
- Utilize Container Chests to transport multiple small treasures efficiently and discreetly.
- Consider the risks and rewards when deciding whether to carry treasure by hand or use a harpoon, especially in PvP situations.
- Prioritize selling treasure to the correct Trading Company to maximize your gains.
