Guide to The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Learn how to find key evidence on the 'Charon' ship, interact with NPCs, and complete optional objectives for rewards.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the 'Charon' ship, collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg and the Camera.
  2. 2
Examine the Pistol: pick it up, rotate it until the 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  3. 3
Use the Camera to take a picture of the trophy fish mounted on the wall (Additional Evidence).
  4. 4
Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Additional Evidence).
  5. 5
Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
  6. 6
Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note: Choosing other dialogue options will lock you out of future conversation branches.
  7. 7
Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right towards the exit.
  8. 8
As you go up the stairs, you will begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Note: Other dialogue options are optional and can be asked at any time, but selecting "I'll be going." ends the conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. This gun consumes ammo rapidly; save its initial clip for a special occasion.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. They reset when you leave and return to the area. Be cautious, as lockers with abundant loot may indicate a dangerous area.
  • When examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, be aware that your sanity will drain. Do not hold it for too long.

Collecting all key and additional evidence in a location before finishing a case grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also provides an additional 140 XP and unlocks an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
