    Upon entering the Oakmont Police Department (7), locate and collect your personal belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and your Pistol.

    To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.

    Use the Camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for 'Additional Evidence'.

    Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for more 'Additional Evidence'.

    Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.

    Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.

    To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Other branches are optional.

    (Optional Investigation) To find the Lifeboat Titania, return to the sign, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.

    In the Lifeboat Titania, inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat using Triangle.

    Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet, as your sanity will slowly drain.

    Return to Robert Throgmorton with Albert's Will to unlock an optional conversation.
