Navigate the Oakmont Police Department (7) in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive guide. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the truth.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering the Oakmont Police Department (7), locate and collect your personal belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and your Pistol.
- 2To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 3Use the Camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for 'Additional Evidence'.
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for more 'Additional Evidence'.
- 5Search the locker to the right of the desk for randomized loot, including ammunition and crafting materials.
- 6Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using the Triangle button.
- 7Converse with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that selecting "I need somewhere to stay" closes off other dialogue branches.
- 8Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 9Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 10To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Other branches are optional.
- 11(Optional Investigation) To find the Lifeboat Titania, return to the sign, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 12In the Lifeboat Titania, inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat using Triangle.
- 13Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet, as your sanity will slowly drain.
- 14Return to Robert Throgmorton with Albert's Will to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds are provided if you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC. This weapon consumes ammunition rapidly.
- Consider putting a free Skill Point (if DLC provides one) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. They reset after leaving and returning to the area.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation site that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for the main casebook.
