Follow our detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Find all key evidence, optional items, and navigate conversations with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton.
Walkthrough
- 1The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the following key evidence:
- Your belongings on the table (includes a briefcase).
- 2Letter from J. van der Berg: Obtained by taking the briefcase.
- 3Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
- 4Pistol: Pick it up, rotate until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: Your gun is not loaded and must be reloaded (L1 for weapon wheel, Square to reload).
- 5Additional Evidence on Ship:
- Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall.
- 6Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 7Lootables: Containers marked with a specific symbol can be searched repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. Contents are randomized.
- 8Speak with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting evidence, exit the boat by climbing the dock (Triangle). Initiate a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select:
- "About my problem."
- 9"Where is Robert Throgmorton?"
- 10"I need somewhere to stay."
- 11"How do I get to Devil's Reef?"
- 12"Goodbye."
- 13Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier, turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and exit. Go up the stairs to start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select:
- "What happened to your son?"
- 14"Who are the Innsmouthers?"
- 15"What do you know about the visions?"
- 16"I can try to find Albert."
- 17"Tell me more about the case."
- 18"I'll be going."
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit.
- Go left down a path, then left towards the sea.
- The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Collect additional evidence:
- Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA".
- Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be quick, as prolonged inspection drains sanity.
- Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the lifeboat seats.
- Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect some evidence.
- Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.

- Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
