Complete walkthrough for ADVENT (Advent West) (9) in The Sinking City 2. Find all key evidence, optional items, and complete objectives to progress.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin by collecting your belongings on the table in front of you on the ship. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until the 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before use.
  2. 2
Take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall using your camera for Additional Evidence.
  3. 3
Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for another piece of Additional Evidence.
  4. 4
Loot the locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  5. 5
Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock to your right using the Triangle button.
  6. 6
Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.
  7. 7
Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions to a bar and an exit. Turn right towards the exit.
  8. 8
As you ascend the stairs, you will automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Again, selecting these options will lock out other dialogue branches.
  9. 9
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.
  10. 10
Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA" for Additional Evidence.
  11. 11
Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find the front faceplate and searching it. Be mindful that prolonged examination drains sanity.
  12. 12
Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from one of the seats inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside using Triangle.
  13. 13
Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds are provided if you own the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC. Use its initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
  • If you received a free Skill Point from DLC, it is recommended to invest it in the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset.
  • The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  • Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
