Walkthrough
  1. 1
    On the "Charon" Ship:
  2. 2
Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (from the briefcase), the Camera, and the Pistol.
  3. 3
To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  4. 4
Reload your gun by equipping it and pressing Square.
  5. 5
Take a picture of the mounted fish on the wall with your Camera for Additional Evidence.
  6. 6
Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for another piece of Additional Evidence.
  7. 7
Loot the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  8. 8
    Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation:
  9. 9
Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  10. 10
Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA" for evidence.
  11. 11
Examine the Diving Helmet. Rotate it and look at the front faceplate. Be aware that your sanity will drain while examining it.
  12. 12
Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside (press Triangle).
  13. 13
Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
  • Collecting all evidence in a location before concluding a case rewards an additional 140 XP.
  • The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds are a bonus for specific editions/DLC and consume ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting the free Skill Point (if applicable) into Absolute Clarity for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset. Higher-value loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
  • Conversations with NPCs like Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton offer world-building but are not strictly necessary for game progression, though certain dialogue choices advance the case.
  • Collecting all key evidence on the "Charon" ship is required to leave.
  • Completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
