Complete The Sinking City 2's "A Frosty Welcome" mission with our detailed walkthrough, covering key evidence, optional objectives, and character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1Collect Key Evidence on the Ship: Your belongings (briefcase containing the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Reload Your Gun: Equip your gun by holding L1, select it from the weapon wheel, and press Square to reload.
- 3Collect Additional Evidence: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 4Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 5Exit the Boat and Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle. Choose the following dialogue options to advance: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.".
- 6Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton as you go up the stairs. Choose the following dialogue options to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.".
- 7Optional: Investigate the Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path and then left toward the sea. You'll find the lifeboat beyond police barricades.
- 8Collect Evidence at the Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA", examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to reach some items.
- 9Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use the initial clip sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.

- Lootable objects can be searched repeatedly and will reset if you leave and return to the area.
- The Titania Lifeboat is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for case progression.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet at the lifeboat, as it will slowly drain your sanity.
- Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
