    On the Charon ship, collect your Key Evidence: your belongings on the table, the Letter from J. van der Berg (from the briefcase), the Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.

    For Additional Evidence on the ship, use your camera to take a photo of the Photo of a trophy plate (fish on the wall) and examine the Flyer on the desk.

    Loot the Locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects reset if you leave and return to the area.

    Exit the boat by pressing Triangle to climb onto the dock. Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye."

    Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Climb the stairs to begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".

Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat

  1. Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left toward the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  2. Inspect the TITANIA name on the Lifeboat.
  3. Examine the Diving Helmet. Rotate it and look at the front faceplate to search. Be mindful of sanity drain while examining the helmet.
  4. Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside (Triangle).
  5. Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting a free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
