Walkthrough
- 1On the "Charon" Ship:
- Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg and the Camera.
- 2Examine your Pistol by picking it up, rotating it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and pressing X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 3Use the camera to take a picture of the trophy plate (fish) on the wall (Additional Evidence).
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Additional Evidence).
- 5Loot the locker to the right of the desk.
- 6After collecting evidence, speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue choices to advance: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.".
- 7Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Speak with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue choices to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.".
- 8Lifeboat Titania (Optional Investigation):
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left toward the sea.
- 9Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades.
- 10Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA".
- 11Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to search the front faceplate. Be quick, as prolonged examination drains sanity.
- 12Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from one of the seats.
- 13After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its clip for important moments.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if obtained via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Returning to the area resets them.
- Be cautious: large amounts of loot in a container may indicate a dangerous area.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- The directions to the Lifeboat Titania are only given once by Robert Throgmorton and not marked on the map.
- Completing the initial ship investigation and speaking with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton progresses the main story.
- Optional investigation of Lifeboat Titania yields extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- Collecting all evidence in a location before finishing the case grants an additional 140 XP.
