Navigate Pierce's Basement in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough. Discover key items, hidden clues, and strategies to overcome challenges in this dark, atmospheric setting.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Initial Area: Upon entering Pierce's Basement, you'll find yourself on a ship. Collect your belongings from the table, which includes your Camera and Pistol. Examining the pistol requires rotating it until an eyeball symbol appears and pressing X. You will also receive a Letter from J. van der Berg.
  2. 2
Optional Evidence: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  4. 4
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by pressing Triangle to climb onto the dock. Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Note that selecting "I need somewhere to stay" closes off other dialogue branches.
  5. 5
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. Climb the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Key dialogue options to advance the game are: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Asking about his looks is not offensive.
  7. 7
Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign and go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence in Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the "TITANIA" nameplate. Examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain). Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some evidence.
  9. 9
Returning Albert's Will: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its clip for critical moments.
  • Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Be aware that containers with more loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
  • When examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, do not hold it for too long to avoid sanity drain.
  • Collecting all key evidence in a location before concluding a case grants an additional 140 XP.
  • Completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation grants an additional 140 XP.
