Navigate the 'Extra Hours' section of The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough. Discover all objectives, tips, and rewards to master this challenging part of the game.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The "Charon" Ship: This is your initial investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an "eyeball" symbol appears and press X. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Optional Evidence on the Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
  4. 4
Leaving the Ship: After collecting your belongings, speak with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select the dialogue options: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Be aware that choosing certain dialogue options will lock out others.
  5. 5
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Ascend the stairs to speak with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going." Similar to the previous conversation, some dialogue choices are optional and may lock out others.
  7. 7
Optional: Lifeboat Titania: If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat, return to the sign and go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is an optional investigation site that does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence in the Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat's name "TITANIA," examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to press Triangle to climb inside.
  9. 9
Concluding the Optional Investigation: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an additional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if obtained via DLC) uses .45 ACP rounds and consumes ammunition quickly. Save its initial clip for important moments.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into "Absolute Clarity" for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Reloading your gun involves equipping it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and pressing Square.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
  • Be cautious with the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat; prolonged exposure drains sanity.
  • Collecting all key evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP.
  • Completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
