Navigate 'An Uninvited Guest' in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the secrets of this challenging mission with our expert walkthrough.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin on the 'Charon' ship, which serves as your first investigation location. Collect your belongings from the table to proceed.
  2. 2
Examine your belongings: the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained from the briefcase), the Camera (essential for taking photos as evidence), and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your pistol before use.
  3. 3
Collect additional evidence: Take a photo of the mounted fish trophy using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk.
  4. 4
Loot the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable items reset upon returning to the area.
  5. 5
Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using the Triangle button.
  6. 6
Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing certain dialogue options will lock out others.
  7. 7
Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the "exit" and go up the stairs.
  8. 8
Speak with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance the game include: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
  9. 9
Optional: Ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat's location. He will provide directions but will not mark it on the map.
  10. 10
Optional Investigation - Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  11. 11
In the Titania Lifeboat, inspect the "TITANIA" nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate it and look for the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain), and collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat. You may need to climb into the lifeboat using Triangle.
  12. 12
Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds are a reward for purchasing the Necronomicon Edition or DLC. Use its initial clip sparingly as .45 ABP rounds are scarce early on.
  • Consider investing the free Skill Point (if received from DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. The amount of loot can indicate the danger level of the area.
  • When examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, do not hold it for too long to avoid significant sanity loss.
  • XP for collecting all key evidence.
  • XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton for completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation.
  • Potential bonus XP from the "Absolute Clarity" skill.
