Complete walkthrough for 'An Inside Job' mission in The Sinking City 2. Find all evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the truth.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by examining your belongings on the table in front of you on the 'Charon' ship. This includes taking your briefcase, which contains the Letter from J. van der Berg, and collecting the Camera.
- 2To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before use.
- 3Use your camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for the "Photo of a trophy plate" evidence.
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for the "Flyer" evidence.
- 5Loot the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 6Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
- 7Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Choosing other options will lock you out of certain dialogue branches.
- 8Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 9Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Select the following dialogue to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.".
- 10Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
- 11Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 12Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA".
- 13Examine the Diving Helmet. Rotate it and search the front faceplate. Be quick, as looking at it drains sanity.
- 14Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside (Triangle).
- 15Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset.
- The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Completing the main objectives of 'An Inside Job' progresses the story. Optional objectives and evidence collection can lead to bonus XP and additional dialogue.
