Complete walkthrough for GRIMHAVEN BAY (Grimhaven Bay South) in The Sinking City 2, covering key evidence, optional objectives, and tips for progression.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon arriving at the "Charon" ship, which serves as your first investigation location, collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera (a usable item for taking pictures as evidence), and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before firing.
- 2Collect additional evidence: take a picture of the trophy fish mounted on the wall using your camera, and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be found throughout the area, such as a locker to the right of the desk. These objects provide randomized ammunition and crafting materials and can be looted repeatedly after respawning.
- 4Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using the Triangle button.
- 5Engage in a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing specific dialogue options will lock out other conversation branches.
- 6Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions to a bar and an exit. Turn right towards the exit and go up the stairs to begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7During your conversation with Robert Throgmorton, select the following options to advance the game: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally, "I'll be going.". Other dialogue choices are optional.
- 8Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be found beyond police barricades. This investigation is not required for casebook progression but offers an additional 140 XP and an optional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 9In the Titania Lifeboat, inspect the TITANIA nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat using Triangle.
- 10After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or its DLC, you will receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. This weapon consumes ammunition rapidly; save its initial clip for important encounters.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% bonus XP gain, accelerating skill point accumulation.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted for crafting materials and ammunition. Be cautious, as containers with more loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- When examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, do not hold it for too long to avoid significant sanity loss.
- XP bonuses for collecting all evidence.
- Additional XP and conversation with Robert Throgmorton for completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation.
