Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' quest. Find key evidence on the 'Charon' ship, interact with NPCs, and uncover optional clues.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, and the Camera. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You'll receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: Your gun is not loaded; equip and press Square to reload.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the photo of a trophy plate (strange fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk. Lootable objects like lockers can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
  3. 3
Speak with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', and 'Goodbye.' Choosing 'I need somewhere to stay' locks out some optional dialogue.
  4. 4
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Climb the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', and 'I'll be going.'
  5. 5
Optional: Titania Lifeboat: To access this, return to the sign, go left down a path, and left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and doesn't add to your casebook, but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Evidence at Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ('TITANIA'), examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle).
  7. 7
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into 'Absolute Clarity' for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area, providing infinite ammunition and crafting materials.
  • Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet at the lifeboat; prolonged exposure drains sanity.
Completing the main objectives of 'A Frosty Welcome' progresses the story. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation provides bonus XP and additional dialogue.
