Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, including key evidence, optional investigations, and character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to take a photo of the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and reset when you leave and return to the area.
- 4Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Note that choosing specific dialogue options locks out others.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Speak to Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going." Like with van der Berg, certain dialogue choices are optional and can be missed.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Accessing the Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Evidence in Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ("TITANIA"), examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle). Be aware that looking at the diving helmet drains sanity over time.
- Reward: Completing this optional investigation grants an extra 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton after returning his son's will.

- Reloading your equipped gun is done by holding L1 to bring up the weapon wheel and pressing Square.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
