Navigate the COVERSIDE (Coverside West) (7) area in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough, including key evidence, optional objectives, and tips for progression.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence to progress.
    • Key Evidence: Your belongings on the table (briefcase, Letter from J. van der Berg, Camera, Pistol). To collect the pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an "eyeball" symbol appears and pressing X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (equip and press Square) before firing.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence: Take a photo of the fish trophy on the wall with your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. Their contents are randomized.
  4. 4
    NPC Interactions:
    • Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation. To advance, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Choosing specific dialogue options can lock out others.
  5. 5
Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going." Optional questions can be asked, but the "I'll be going" option ends the conversation permanently.
  6. 6
    Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat:
    • Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  7. 7
Additional Evidence: Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA." Rotate the "Diving Helmet" and search its front faceplate. Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat inside the lifeboat (climb inside using Triangle). Be cautious as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
  8. 8
Collecting all evidence here grants an extra 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
  • Consider investing your initial Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable object contents are randomized and reset upon leaving and returning to the area. Larger supplies in lootables may indicate a more dangerous area.
  • The Titania Lifeboat is an optional investigation; its evidence is not required for case progression but provides XP and dialogue.
  • Collecting all key evidence on the "Charon" ship and completing the optional "Titania Lifeboat" investigation grants bonus XP.
  • Unlocking additional conversations with NPCs provides more lore and context.
