Follow our comprehensive guide to The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, detailing key evidence, optional objectives, and character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1The 'Charon' Ship: Your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You'll receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun by holding L1, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
- 4Exit the Boat: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.
- 5Johannes van der Berg: Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select 'About my problem,' 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?,' 'I need somewhere to stay,' 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?,' and finally 'Goodbye.' Choosing 'I need somewhere to stay' locks out some optional dialogue.
- 6Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign. Turn right as the sign indicates. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7Robert Throgmorton Conversation: To advance, select 'What happened to your son?,' 'Who are the Innsmouthers?,' 'What do you know about the visions?,' 'I can try to find Albert,' 'Tell me more about the case,' and finally 'I'll be going.' Other dialogue options are optional.
- 8Optional: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect additional evidence: inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; prolonged examination drains sanity), and pick up Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some items.
- 9Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ACP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials.
- When examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, be mindful of your sanity draining.
