Detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's Oldgrove South (6) section. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the mysteries of the city.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Collect Belongings: On the "Charon" ship, your first key evidence is your personal belongings on the table. This includes a Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera (essential for taking pictures as evidence), and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1, select weapon, press Square).
  2. 2
Optional Evidence on Ship: Take a photo of the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer). Loot the locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  3. 3
Interact with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Choosing these specific options advances the game and locks out further optional dialogue.
  4. 4
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier until you reach a sign with directions. Turn right towards the exit and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  5. 5
Interact with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Similar to the previous conversation, these choices progress the story and close off other dialogue branches.
  6. 6
Optional: Investigate Lifeboat Titania: If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat, he will give you directions. Return to the pier sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is an optional investigation that does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert.
  7. 7
Evidence in Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the lifeboat's name (TITANIA). Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a search prompt on the front faceplate. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. Be aware that looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some evidence.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition rapidly; save its clip for critical moments.
  • Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted by leaving and returning to the area, providing a consistent source of ammunition and crafting materials.
  • Be cautious when examining the diving helmet in the lifeboat, as it can drain your sanity.
Completing the main objectives of this section progresses the story. Optional investigations, like the Lifeboat Titania, provide additional XP and potential dialogue opportunities.
