Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's COVERSIDE (Coverside West) (14) section. Find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and progress through the investigation.
Walkthrough
- 1Key Evidence on the "Charon" Ship: Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and your Pistol. Examine the pistol by rotating it until the "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle and pressing X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Additional Evidence on the "Charon" Ship: Use your camera to photograph the Photo of a trophy plate (a strange fish mounted on the wall). Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootables on the "Charon" Ship: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Initiate a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.".
- 5Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier. Turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.".
- 7Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign. Go left down a path and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 8Evidence in the Titania Lifeboat: Inspect the TITANIA lifeboat name. Search the Diving Helmet by rotating it and examining the front faceplate. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside (Triangle). Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.
- 9Completing Robert's Request: Return to Robert Throgmorton and give him his son's will to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be searched repeatedly and will reset after leaving and returning to the area. The amount of loot may indicate the danger level of the area.
- The Titania Lifeboat is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for casebook progression.
Completing the "Charon" ship evidence collection grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP.
