Follow our comprehensive guide to The Sinking City's "A Frosty Welcome" mission, detailing key evidence, optional investigations, and NPC interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1On the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the following key evidence:
- Your belongings on the table (includes Letter from J. van der Berg).
- 2Camera (usable item for taking pictures as evidence).
- 3Pistol (examine the handle by rotating it until an "eyeball" symbol appears, then press X). You receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 4Additional Evidence on Ship:
- Photo of a trophy plate (use your camera on the fish mounted on the wall).
- 5Flyer (examine the flyer on the desk).
- 6Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 7Casebook Task: Letter from J. van der Berg
- Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle).
- 8Speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to advance the conversation: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Be aware that selecting "I need somewhere to stay" closes off other dialogue branches.
- 9Casebook Task: Find Robert Throgmorton
- Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit.
- 10Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 11Choose dialogue options to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Optional questions can be asked before selecting "I'll be going.".
- 12Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 13Inspect the Lifeboat Name: "TITANIA".
- 14Examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and look at the front faceplate). Be quick, as your sanity drains while looking at it.
- 15Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat (climb inside using Triangle).
- 16Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider putting a free Skill Point (if received via DLC) into the **Absolute Clarity** Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. More materials in a lootable may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The location of the lifeboat is only given verbally by Robert Throgmorton and is not marked on the map.
- Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
