Master The Sinking City 2's 'Deductions (7)' guide. Learn how to gather evidence, make deductions, and progress through the game's mysteries with our expert walkthrough.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Gather Key Evidence: Collect your personal belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (found in the briefcase), the Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before use.
  2. 2
Gather Additional Evidence: Use your camera to photograph the strange fish trophy mounted on the wall. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Optional Evidence (Titania Lifeboat): If you choose to investigate the optional Titania Lifeboat location (accessed by returning to the signpost and heading left towards the sea), you can find additional evidence: inspect the lifeboat's name 'TITANIA', examine the Diving Helmet (be mindful of sanity drain), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside.
  4. 4
Conversations: After leaving the ship, you will automatically speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', and 'Goodbye.' Be aware that selecting 'Goodbye' ends the conversation permanently.
  5. 5
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. You will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton as you ascend the stairs. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', and 'I'll be going.'
  6. 6
Optional Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: If you investigate the Titania Lifeboat and find Albert's Will, returning it to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
  • Collecting all evidence in a location before concluding a case rewards an additional 140 XP.
  • The Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC includes a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as they are difficult to replenish early on.
  • If you received a free Skill Point from DLC, invest it in the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as abundant loot may indicate a dangerous area.
  • The Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat can drain your sanity if examined for too long.
Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
