Navigate Reed Heights South in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive guide. Discover key evidence, optional objectives, and tips for progressing through this challenging section.
Walkthrough
- 1Charon Ship Investigation: Upon arriving in the city, the 'Charon' ship serves as your first investigation location. You must collect key evidence before proceeding. This includes your belongings on the table (briefcase, camera, pistol). To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press 'X' to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Additionally, there is additional evidence: a flyer on a desk and a photo of a trophy plate on the wall (use your camera). Lootable objects like lockers can be found and repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
- 2Conversations: After collecting your belongings, you will automatically speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Subsequently, proceed north along the pier to find Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options with him include: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
- 3Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: If you ask Robert Throgmorton about his son's lifeboat, he will provide directions. Return to the sign pointing to the exit, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades. Evidence here is optional but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Collect the 'TITANIA' inspection, examine the 'Diving Helmet' (be mindful of sanity drain), and retrieve 'Albert Throgmorton's will' from a seat.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its clip for critical moments.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to an area, allowing for repeated collection of materials and ammo.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the Lifeboat Titania; prolonged exposure drains sanity.
- Dialogue choices with NPCs are mostly for world-building; select the key options to progress the main story.
