Learn how to complete the Sudden Invitation mission in The Sinking City 2. This guide covers objectives, key items, and important choices to help you progress.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon boarding the 'Charon' ship, you will be prompted to collect your belongings. This includes your Letter from J. van der Berg, your Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle and press X. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Use your camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall (Additional Evidence).
- 3Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Additional Evidence).
- 4Loot the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials.
- 5Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
- 6Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing these options will lock out other conversational branches.
- 7Proceed north along the pier until you reach a sign. Turn right towards the exit.
- 8As you ascend the stairs, you will begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Again, these choices will lock out other conversational branches.
- 9(Optional Investigation) To find the Titania Lifeboat, return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 10Inside the lifeboat, inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (be mindful of sanity drain), and collect 'Albert Throgmorton's will'.
- 11Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds are provided if you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC. This weapon consumes ammunition quickly, so use it sparingly.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. Their contents reset when you leave and return to the area.
- Be cautious when looting; containers with more supplies may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The diving helmet in the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation can drain your sanity if you hold it for too long.
