Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence on the 'Charon' ship and the Titania Lifeboat, and navigate conversations with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase containing the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1 for weapon wheel, select gun, press Square).
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your Camera to photograph the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate). Examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) provide ammunition and crafting materials and reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
  4. 4
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', 'Goodbye.' Choosing 'I need somewhere to stay' locks out some optional dialogue branches.
  5. 5
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', 'I'll be going.' Other branches are optional.
  7. 7
Optional: Titania Lifeboat (Robert's Request): To investigate the lifeboat, return to the sign, go left down a path, and left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence in Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ('TITANIA'). Examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; prolonged inspection drains sanity). Find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some evidence.
  9. 9
Concluding the Optional Investigation: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to hand it over, unlocking an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable containers can be repeatedly searched for resources. Be cautious, as large amounts of loot may indicate a dangerous area.
  • The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewarding in terms of XP and lore.
Completing the 'Charon' ship evidence collection grants bonus XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants bonus XP and unlocks further dialogue with Robert Throgmorton. If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds.
